4 months and counting...

First I would like to begin with some apologies for the lack of updates, but a girl gets busy in Korea. OK, so for those of you who I speak with regularly you know that busy means...

noon wake up, errands or other minor things in the morning, Korean class if it happens to be Tuesday or Friday, work at 4pm, home by 10:30 pm...repeat...

Essentially there is no excuse for my lack of updates, so I do apologize.

I've been here for 4 months now and it seems like yesterday when I arrived, all the while feeling like I've been here forever. So much happens in such a short period of time and yet in the grand scheme of life it really is not that long. Regardless, its been fun!!!

So what have I been up to you ask??? Well, since my last posting I've attended an international film festival, redecorated my apartment, played in a softball tournament, and welcomed my friend Isabel to Korea.

PIFF: Pusan International Film Festival
(October 4-12)

Arrival in Busan on the KTX

Olivia, Cass and I decided to attend the PIFF the first weekend of October, in search for a worldly adventure in Korea. We had tickets for a French film called Horse Thieves. So off to Busan (Pusan) we went on Saturday morning. We spent the day walking around Haeundae beach looking at the Festival booths and enjoying some of the daily activities. The movie was in the evening and it turned out to be very enjoyable. We attended a meet and greet with the main actor in the film. It was very interesting as he only spoke French and there was a Korean translator. Definitely put my French skills to the test (note to self must learn French, haha).

Overall a great experience and we have plans to make a weekend of it next year.

MoonKkang's 2007 Softball Tournament

MoonKkang Beer Cooler

(at the Three Pigs BBQ restaurant)
Bret: Are you guys playing softball?
Cass: Umm does this look like a person who plays softball?
Dalia: Hahaha, yeah right...
Bret: C'mon it will be fun, we can drink all day.
Cass: (to Dalia) I'll go if you go...
Dalia: Ok, but do we have to drink beer? or can we bring our own?
Bret: I'm bringing my own...
Dalia: Ok, I'll email Chris and let him know we're in!
Bret, Dalia, Cass: Yuppee!!!!

Team Fun!!! (left to right: Cass, Bret, Me!! and Lindsey)

OK, so I'm a little foggy on the exact details of that conversation but in the end Cass and I decided to join in the softball fun, and FUN it was! We arrived bright and early on Saturday morning ready to play some ball. We received our team t-shirt (Cass, Lindsey, Bret and I ended up on the same team, hahaha), team All Stars, grabbed ourselves a beer and waited for our first game.

We tied the first and lost the second but had a fun day full of beers, fried chicken, pizza and kimbap. Go team go!!!

Welcome to Korea Isabel!!!

Isabel has arrived! She is teaching at a different branch but close enough! Oh the adventures to come!!!!
