I officially started to countdown to China about a week ago, I am now at 19 days! I'm very excited to see China for real this time, not just the Beijing airport.
We depart Korea on Wednesday February 6th and return Sunday February 10th. This is a Korean holiday called Solnal or Lunar New Year! I've been very lucky this year that the Korean holidays have given us these SUPER long weekends in which to travel, because it doesn't always happen this way.
Here is a sneak peak at the itinerary for Beijing:
Acrobatic Show
Jade Carving Factory
The Great Wall
Pearl Shop
Tian An Men Square
Forbidden City
Tea Shop
Yashow Market
Although I'm excited to see all these attractions what I'm most excited about is shopping!!!! I've been told by friends who have gone to Beijing in the past that China is the place to shop. And so, I shall shop till I drop or until my suitcase is too full!!!!
I love Korea and so far I've had the time of my life, but leaving Korea and experiencing different cultures is always a welcomed adventure. It's funny how quickly Korea became home though, because after traveling I do feel like I'm going home and always feel relieved when I get to Daegu, to the Beommeo neighbourhood and to Myeongnang Street!!!
All that being said, China here I come, and in the words of the 'wanna be' Italians I know...LOOK OUT!!!!
