The Holiday Season...the 6 month mark!!

WOAHHHHH!!! How time flies when you are having fun!!! I honestly can't believe how fast the last 6 months have gone by. I suppose it's a combination of a number of factors. Let's explore these further shall we...

First of all, I love my job. I mean the little devils make me mental sometimes and I want to throw them out the window (which I threaten to do on an hourly basis) but I still love them. That being said I live for the weekends. Sunday night rolls along and I'm making plans for the following Friday night haha. Second, my weeks fly by since I'm keeping busy. Hapkido 4-5 days a week, Korean/Spanish lessons with my friend Yeo Ul and the occasional after work beer. All of these things combined make for quick weeks, which in turn lead to quick months.

HOLIDAYS!!!

The holiday season was surprisingly satisfying in Korea. It was so refreshing to be away from all the hustle and bustle that is the Christmas Season in North America. The focus is far from shopping and gifts and all those commercialized things Christmas is definitely NOT! I suppose not working retail this Christmas Season also helped that. Needless to say I was more than happy to be away from it all.

MK Christmas Dinner 2007

I did miss the family more than I have in the last 6 months. Maybe I'm a bad daughter/sister but I haven't really missed much of home...hehehe...in my perfect world my family would be here with me though. How fun would that be??? However, knowing that this holiday season was a busy one at 38 Bosworth Cr. was kinda sad. Abuelito Oscar, Abuelita Mechez and Raisa were all visiting from Guate. Tio Hugo, Dulce and Michelle all the way from Texas and of course the Palacios all the way from Waterloo!! The phone call home was fun. I was being passed around until I finally ended up with my sister just before my mom started yelling at her to get off the phone...hahaha...gee thanks mom!! It was fun to be a part of home even over the phone!

The Moonkkang Christmas was great!!! The boys in charge of the regular Sunday afternoon hockey league organized a nice little Christmas Tournament and thanks to the warm winter weather we had a great time. The Potluck Christmas dinner was delicious, we had turkey, salads, desserts, mashed potatoes (not as good as the Wannam's), and even meat loaf...let me just take a moment to pay tribute to the meat loaf- Dave (from NY) made the most amazing meat loaf EVER!!!! and he managed to do it in a toaster oven WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! I think I'm gonna start a new Christmas tradition that contains meat loaf!

Overall, Christmas was what Christmas should be...a time to be grateful for friends and family, a time to share with those you love, and a time to eat delicious food!!

Anyways that's all for now...Pictures have been updated from the holidays...they include Christmas, New Years, Hapkido test, and snowboarding with the Jaeshi teachers :):):):)!!!
